Happy Friday, y'all! I'm super excited on this particular Friday for lots of reasons:
First, if you're reading this it means I've finally put in the last hours at my terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad job. What a relief. I'm SO excited to start a whole new life in the next couple of weeks, and only a little bit sad about the whole affair.
Next, I finished the Wedding Socks! And I did it in plenty of time to meet that whole Olympic knitting deadline. Awesome. They fit Mr. Right's feet perfectly, and I love the way they turned out:
Not bad, eh? Bonus: Despite more than a year transpiring between sock 1 and sock 2, they're almost exactly the same size. No idea how I managed that, but pretty happy that I did.
More pics to come after the Big Day, promise. My little sock blockers don't quite do a great job of showing off the pattern since boy socks are so. freaking. big.
And... I have another FO this week! Largely because someone else made it. Behold, wedding jam:
These cute little things are our wedding favors. Homemade peach jam, courtesy of my awesome matron of honor, and spectacular jam labels courtesy of my equally awesome art director friend. I'm kind of smitten with them and hope our guests are, too. They still need a ribbon or a bit of twine around the lid, but that should be pretty painless.
Now, just 2 1/2 more puffs to go, and the wedding knitting will be finito. Phew! Then, I just have 11 million and 3 things left to get done before the wedding. Next week. Eep! Okay, I'm exaggerating a little bit. Really, we're in great shape as far as stuff coming together. I know this because I still have time to knit. Baby blanket! Woot!
And now I'm off to wash the dog. Oh, the glamorous life of a bride! But then I'll check out all the cool stuff that's happening at FO Friday and Fiber Arts Friday, because both of them are way more fun than stinky, wet dog.
Lovely socks and jam ... and excited for you about your fresh start :) x
ReplyDeleteNice socks! and wedding jam? what a good idea! Good luck with your big day :)
ReplyDeleteThat jam's a great idea ... much better than those awful sugared almonds :)
ReplyDeleteAnd just look at those handsome socks! Well done!
I think the jam looks great and is a really memorable gift. I love the socks - I'm also amazed at the sizing considering the time lapse between each sock.
ReplyDeleteI can't begin to tell you how excited I am for you. I hope you have a wonderful week, the happiest of wedding days and everlasting bliss thereafter : )
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every moment (and then overwhelm us with pics and stories please!) xxx
PS: The socks are gorgeous
Next week?!!! The time between your engagement announcement and the wedding went by so quickly!!! I really love your favours; I think that's an awesome idea.
ReplyDeleteBest to you both for the big day and always. See you online when you're done with the wedding and honeymooning!
Whew. What a week.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you that our peach jam is a-maz-ing. We're eating almost a whole jar every day. Your guests are going to LOVE their wedding jam.
Those socks are awesome- I love the understated color of them.
ReplyDeleteAnd those peach jam favors are totally adorable. If your guests don't like them, then they obviously have issues LOL :) Good luck and happy thoughts heading your way as you get ready for the wedding!
that is a great and unique wedding favor..glad that everything is coming together!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the jam that's packed with love. That is so cute and clever. And much more appetizing than jordan almonds. Seriously, who eats those?
ReplyDeleteThe socks look so nice. I'm doubly impressed that you got them to be the same size after a year in between!
I love the little jams, how cute! And great socks. Good luck getting everything in order!
ReplyDeleteThose socks are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe jam gifts are perfect. That has to be one of the best wedding favors I've seen.
